On Constraints

a Fibonacci poem — each line has 1, 1, 2, 3, 5, 8, 13, 21 syllables
for the Oulipo, who built labyrinths to escape from

Light.1

Touch.1

One rule.2

Repeat it.3

That is all it takes.5

The labyrinth invents the path.8

The sonnet finds its song inside the walls, not past them —13

because the constraint is where all of the freedom hides — the rules, the rules are everything.21
